Oceanside fans have something to cheer about again, after their Save on Foods Generals snapped their nine game winless streak with two 4-2 victories this weekend over Comox Valley Glacier Kings, in Comox on Friday and at home to Peninsula Panthers, Saturday. Both games were very well played by the Gens, as they put the game plan to work for a full sixty minutes in both contests. Kyle Yamasaki, Cam McKarrick, Connor Morgan with the game winner, and Myles Fitzgerald all tallied for the visitors in Comox, outscoring the Kings 3-1 in the final frame. The only blemish was the penalty kill, allowing both Comox Valley goals.

On Saturday, the guys really came to play and scored two in the first before allowing a shorthanded goal with six seconds left in the first frame. Kyle Yamasaki scored from the corner twelve minutes into the period with Jason Wark adding the second, with three and a half remaining. Brandon Leigh scored his first as a Gen, and the game winner, the only goal of the second period. The last period was scoreles until Peninsula was able to close within one, with the extra attacker but with only sixteen ticks left in the game the Gens were able to clear the puck and preserve the victory. Nolan Zarazun scored into the empty net at the buzzer to put the icing on the cake. Goaltender Braeden Johnson was superb in both games, especially against the top team in the league,
